FAISALABAD, Pakistan -- The Brian Lara-led West Indies squad again faltered under an intense Pakistani bowling attack, to give the host side the win in the second One-Day International at the Iqbal Stadium Thursday.
The Windies, who were in early trouble from the start, losing two wickets for duck, managed to reach 151 all out off 49.5 overs. Rickey Morton was the lone top scorer for the visitor’s, reaching 43 before he too was felled by a Naved-ul-Hasan ball.
Adbur Rehman, Umar Gul and ul-Hasan proved too much for the West Indies batsmen, who collapsed cheaply under the intense attack.
But the Windies bolwers fought back, capturing the early wicket of Mohammad Hafeez and Imran Farhat for just 17 and managing to largely restrict the batting power of the Pakistanis. But skipper Inzamam-ul-Haq fought back for his side, scoring an unbeaten 42 to guide his team to a tense two-wicket victory at 154 for eight.
Jerome Taylor and Corey Collymore was again the pick of the bowlers, bagging 3 wickets each.
The first ODI was rained out. The two sides clash again in the third match on Dec. 10th at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore.
