ISLAMABAD, Pakistan -- The first one day international between the West Indies and Pakistan was abandoned today in Rawalpindi due to persistent rain.
The abandonment comes hours after the second and final scheduled practice session before the first ODI was cancelled due to persistent rain. The West Indies went into the match following a 2-0 loss to Pakistan in the three match test series and minus Carlton Baugh, Ramnaresh Sarwan and Dwayne Bravo.
Sarwan has been replaced by opening batsman Daren Ganga while newcomer Lendl Simmons and Denesh Ramdin have been added to the side.
