PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti -- Haitian President Rene Preval has disclosed that his prostate cancer may have returned.
Preval, who visited Cuba where he completed tests over the weekend, said yesterday, that while results were inclusive, he will have to return to Havana for more tests and for treatment. He did not reveal howl ong he’ll be away, but said, "They (doctors) are unable to say right now at what stage this is. I have to go back for more tests. If it continues to grow, that will mean the cancer came back."
Rumors of the newly-elected President being ill surfaced last week, when he flew to Havana unexpectedly. Preval was first diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2001. He is 63.
