Reggae In Playboy

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- Reggae has made it into Playboy magazine.

Both Gyptian’s “Serious Times” and Vybz Kartel’s ‘"Guns like These" are among the world music nominees for the 2006 Playboy Magazine Music Poll. The winner will be announced in the March issue of the magazine.

Also nominated in the category is Jewish reggae singer, Matisyahu, for ‘Youth,’ Senegalese singer Cheikh Lo for ‘Lamp Fall’ and Brazilian Marisa Montes’ ‘Universo Ao Meu Redor.’

Fans can vote for their favorite at: http://www.playboy.com/magazine/features/music-poll-2006. Voters also get the opportunity to listen to samples of the nominated songs before they vote.

Other categories up for vote include Best Rock, Electronic, Hip-Hop, Jazz, Country, Soundtrack and Reissue albums as well as Best New Artist, Best Live Act and Best Song.
