ST. JOHN'S, Antigua -- The West Indies Cricket Board yesterday named the 14-man squad to face Pakistan in the first One Day International Series, a day/night fixture, which begins on December 5 at the Pindi Stadium, Rawalpindi.
Bowlers Fidel Edwards, Corey Collymore and Omari Banks have been replaced by Ian Bradshaw, Dwayne Smith and Marlon Samuels while batsman Wavell Hinds has been dropped. Vice captain Ramnaresh Sarwan, however, rejoins the squad, after being left out of the second test.
The full squad is: Brian Lara (captain), Ramnaresh Sarwan (vice-captain), Ian Bradshaw, Dwayne Bravo, Shivnarine Chanderpaul, Christopher Gayle, Dave Mohammed, Runako Morton, Daren Powell, Denesh Ramdin, Marlon Samuels, Lendl Simmons, Dwayne Smith, Jerome Taylor.
After Dec. 5, the other one-day matches will be played on Dec. 7 in Faisalabad, Dec. 10th in Lahore, Dec. 13th in Multan, and Dec. 16th in Karachi.
The West Indies lost the first test and had to settle for a draw in the second match in Multan despite a double century by Skipper Brian Lara. They face Pakistan in the third and final test in Karachi from Monday.
