NEW YORK, N.Y. -- A non-profit group founded by a Jamaican migrant bent on giving back to the rural community he grew up in, is set to benefit from a US$25,000 donation tomorrow.

“Urban Concepts,” the multicultural division of award-winning experiential marketing agency, US Concepts, will make the donation to Upliftment Jamaica, head by Gary Foster.

“At Urban Concepts, we embrace the idea that everyone should do his/her part to help someone else,” Nadja Bellan-White, of Urban Concepts commented on the early holiday present. “Upliftment Jamaica empowers those to help themselves, and the money we donate will provide computers and educational programs for Jamaicans and open the door to new opportunities for those less fortunate.” The donation will be made at a reception tomorrow evening at the US Concepts Luxe Lounge at 75 Ninth Avenue in Manhattan.

Urban Concepts, Gary Foster, and 107.5/WBLS’s Dahved Levy will play host for the evening and live performances are expected from VP Records artist’s Wayne Wonder and Gyptian.

Upliftment Jamaica's assistance to White Horses, Jamaica include help for health care, shut-in visitations, tertiary training, back-to-school programs, kiddies treat, Kidz on the Net, coastline clearing and cleaning, summer games, among others.
