About UsWebsite HistoryWhile working as Computer Lab Assisstant and Webmaster at Florida International University's Graham Center, Sagine Ferrus and Shawn Stewart noticed the lack of Caribbean based communities on the Internet. Sure, there are a lot of Caribbean sites, but most of them are owned by American or foreign travel agencies. To make matters worse, all the good Caribbean domain names had been taken by these companies. Sadly, the playing field had been severly narrowed to the disavdantage of the Caribbean people. They had a bold and brilliant idea. Why not create a site to fill that void? They envisioned a site where Caribbean people, no matter where you were in the world, could hop onto the web and listen to the music of home, get news updates and maybe meet a few new people. They then transformed that idea into a great graphics and website design along with an aggressive marketing strategy that is sure to achieve nothing but success. And so, a great partnership was formed. On November 19, 1999, they bought the domain name and began working. They shelled out whatever cash they had to buy the parts to a build a server and lease a fast internet connection. For months they worked: Designing, testing, rejecting, researching and developing. Today you are looking at the fruits of their labor. But the story doesn't end yet. There will be many additions and enhancements in the months and years to come. And we would like you to be a part of it. |
